    Musical activities outside the College

My principal musical activity outside Berklee has been participating in various recording sessions in professional studios, such as “Mix One Studios” or “Futura Productions”.

Those sessions include my collaboration as a violin player with the Composer Lucas Vidal in the Short Film "Brother Soldier" and the movie "Cathedral Pines" . I recorded on the Boston University studios, collaborating with Hanna Lim on the soundtrack of the movie "The Hunting Season". I also played on the project “The Waltz of Princess Little Louse” by Ariosto J. Arata.

    Materials:

    •  "Brother Soldier" - 2 brochure from the recording session.

    •  Recommendation Letters ( I & II ) from Steve Dzialowsi, Project Manager in Lucas Vidal team.

    •  Making off   "The Hunting Season".

    •   Recommendation Letter from Ariosto J. Arata.

To end this section, I would like to say that one of my principal activities outside the college, is going to be working with the professional company “Snappy dance theater” on the project “String Beings” doing my optional practical training. That includes performances on the “Boston Center for the Arts” and a tour outside U.S. after my graduation.

    •  “String Beings” project (my name is not there because I did the audition two weeks ago and they didn't update the website since then)

    Pro-Arts

I decided to put a section in my portfolio about Pro-Arts. First of all I have to say that we are very lucky to have a program like that at Berklee. The options, experiences and knowledge that I got from it are really important for my career development.

Like I said on my Resume, I've been dancing since I was five, now I am focusing in improvisational movement. I also did studies in contemporary theater during three years. Now, I am studying trough Pro-Arts on the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, on the Performance Art and Sound departments, to develop different projects where I work with the violin, movement and also with media, like video or sound. These projects are opening a new dimension on my career as a musician and as an artist. I also would like to say that my teachers at Berklee are really supportive about this work, as they mention on some of the recommendation letters.

    Materials:

    •  Performance pictures

    •  Program ( I - II ) Open Studios April 9 th , 2006 SMFA

    College Community

I am a member of the Movie Club, Global students network and Jams Berklee Club. I also collaborated in the guide that Berklee is doing for freshman international students. I am applying to be a peer advisor next semester because I think that my experience here coming from another country like Spain, can help new students to organize themselves inside and outside college.

    Activities outside the College

I have the honor to be part of the Fulbright Foundation as a scholarship recipient. That made possible to come to Berklee after earning my Degree in classical music. One of my activities outside the college is participating and collaborating with the Fulbright Association here in Boston.

Last November they asked me to organize a concert with Fulbright students from around the world that are studying in Boston. I had the contact information from fifteen people, some of them doing Music as a career and some of them not.   My job was putting together a concert, with all the different rolls being involved; I chose the repertoire,   I put together the ensembles, I rehearsed with them, (I was also participating as a player) and I organized the space and the performance the concert day.

It was an amazing experience, we had people playing from China, Turkey, Colombia, Cyprus, France, Palestine, Italy, and some of them where playing music from their countries; it was a really enriching experience musically, culturally and as a human being.

    Materials:

    •  Recommendation letter from Agnes Serenyi (member of the board of Fulbright Association of Massachusetts)

    •  Program ( I - II ) from the “Afternon of Music”, February 4, 2007 Eliot House Library, Harvard University.
